School Rules : (Code of Conduct)

The following are guidelines for students and parents, detailing what is required of the students at St. George's College, Agra in terms of rules to be observed and behaviour that is acceptable. This Code of Conduct is based upon self-discipline, good behaviour both in and out of class, smart appearance, punctuality and consideration for others and their property, politeness and good manners, honesty and tolerance.

GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS:

  • 1. Parents are requested to read the contents of this Diary carefully in the interest of the child and abide by the rules laid down by the school.
  • 2. Accept the school's rules and regulations, including those related to promotion in terms of academic performance, minimum attendance, and the school's decision in relation to these matters as final and binding.
  • 3. Whenever you correspond with the school regarding your ward, kindly quote his/her full name, class and section.
  • 4. All communications should be addressed to the Principal.
  • 5. No child will be allowed to leave the premises during the school hours without prior permission in writing from the Principal.
  • 6. Parents should be present on the day of the P.T.M. along with their wards.
  • 7. Parents are requested not to visit the students in the classroom without the permission of the Principal.
  • 8. Read school circulars, mails, messages, notes and remarks sent by the teachers carefully.
  • 9. Spend time going through the note books, especially on weekends.
  • 10. Encourage your child to be careful about their belongings.
  • 11. Valuable articles such as mobile phone, iPod, iPad, expensive digital watches, jewellery, etc. should not be brought to school. Kindly check their bags before they leave for school, as the school will not be responsible for any lost items.
  • 12. Encourage your child to take interest in academics, sports and co-curricular activities.
  • 13. Parents are requested to give a complete medical report of their ward in case the child is suffering from any ailment.
  • 14. The students should attend the PTM in the School Uniform.
  • 15. Only students of Classes Nursery to V are allowed to wear colour dress on their respective birthday.
  • 16. Strict action will be taken against the child resulting in expulsion if they are found bullying, troubling or indulging in group harassment or caught playing any physically barmful games.
  • 17. Parents are requested not to send their child to school if they are suffering from any infectious diseases.
  • 18. Only the Parents are permitted to see the Report Card of the child on Open Day.
  • 19. Parents should ensure to meet the teachers on the P.T.M. days at the allotted timings.
  • 20. Parents must register a permanent mobile no. with school on which SMS and other alerts may be sent. In case of change, the parents must notify the changed number in writing to the school office.
  • 21. No students will be allowed to leave the school early on the plea of attending private coaching classes. The school DOES NOT allow dummy candidate.
  • 22. Parents kindly note that fancy shoes, jewellery, unruly hair, fancy hair-cuts and streaking/ highlighting of hair by hair colours is not permitted.
  • 23. We expect parents and guardians to be cordial and polite to the staff of the school even in most taxing situation.
  • 24. A student can also be asked, by the school to be withdrawn on academic or disciplinary grounds including submission of false information to the school at the time of admission.
  • Disciplinary action may even involve expulsion. The Principal's decision in all matters shall be final.

    THE STUDENTS SHOULD:

  • 1. The students should always keep their school diary with them and present the same to the teacher as per requirement.
  • 2. Be proactive in promoting and working towards making school a positive, supportive, safe and welcoming place for all students and teachers.
  • 3. Be respectful and courteous to fellow-students, parents, guardians and teaching and nonteaching staff.
  • 4. Be knowledgeable about discipline policies regulations and rules.
  • 5. Follow school rules and contribute to a positive school climate by behaving appropriately even when not specifically asked to do so.
  • 6. Make every reasonable effort to participate actively in the activities of the school.
  • 7. Recognize how their conduct affects other students and school as a whole and make every effort to restore relationship affected by their conduct.
  • GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  • 1. Students should treat school staff with respect at all times and be courteous to fellow students.
  • 2. Text books and note books must be covered and Well maintained. Students should complete their assignments within the given time, neatness and quality is essential.
  • 3. Students must look after their own belongings. Parents are requested not to send any money/valuable to the school.
  • 4. Students will refrain from damaging any form of school property. The school reserves the right to be compensated by the student for any such damages.
  • 5. Students will refrain from littering and keep the school premises clean.
  • 6. Unacceptable behaviour including but not limited to irregular attendance, academic dishonesty, and neglect of homework, disruptive behaviour, loitering and disrespectful behaviour towards staff or fellow students will result in serious disciplinary action.
  • 7. Any form of bullying or ragging will result in a disciplinary committee review and could result in expulsion with a negative conduct certificate.
  • 8. Any misbehaviour or violation of school discipline will be dealt by the disciplinary committee and corrective action will be taken. In extreme cases parents will be called in to discuss the child's behaviour and may lead to suspension or expulsion from the school.
  • 9. The medium of instruction is English and students are expected to communicate in English at all times.
  • 10. It is compulsory to bring the school issued ID card to school every day. Not bringing the ID card could result in the child not being allowed into the school premises.
  • 11. For safety and security, parents should refrain from sending money with their child without specific written notice from the school.
  • 12. For safety and security, parents should refrain from sending valuables (like expensive jewellery, electronic items, etc.) to school.
  • 13. Mobile phones are NOT permitted in the school.
  • 14. It is compulsory for all students to attend the school assembly daily.
  • 15. Attendance is compulsory for all students on 26* January and 15th August.
  • OTHER GUIDELINES:

  • 1. Punctuality is important at all time. Every student is expected to be in the school 5 minutes before the Assembly Bell. If the students are late for the Assembly they will receive 3 warning notices, after which they are liable to be sent home.
  • 2. No student will remain on the campus or in the class room after the last bell has been rung.
  • 3. Their manner of movement should be quiet and orderly, at all times.
  • 4. Students are forbidden to bring into the school valuable articles such as Jewellery, wrist watches, mobile phones.
  • 5. If earrings must be worn then they must be small hoops or studs. Nose rings, bangles, rings, bracelets, tattoos, mehendi of any kind are not permitted
  • 6. Only literature which is connected with the school work is to be brought to school.
  • 7. Every child must carry a bag/satchel. No books should be carried loose.
  • 8. Children are advised to behave in an orderly manner in the school and in public places.
  • 9. Use of swear words and foul language, scribbling and scratching on School furniture and School walls and any misbehaviour in public places will be strictly dealt with.
  • 10. Students are instructed not to play in the classroom or use cricket bats and footballs, basketballs, except on the playground. The cost of repairs caused by damage to school property will be charged to the concerned students.
  • 11. Any pupil who is persistently insubordinate or is repeatedly or willfully mischievous or is guilty of malpractice in connection with-examinations or has committed an act of serious indiscipline and/or misbehavio ur or who, in the opinion of the Head of the Institution, has an unwholesome influence on his fellow pupils, may be expelled permanently or removed from theschool for a specified period by the Principal.
  • 12. The rule of good behaviour applies outside as well as inside the School.
  • 13. Social functions, involving pupils must not be organised without the Principal's approval.
  • 14. This applies to picnics, excursions and Inter School Sports, anybody who organises or takes part in these unauthorised activities will be liable for disciplinary action.
  • EXAMINATION, ASSIGNMENTS, DOCUMENTS AND NOTICES STUDENTS SHOULD NOT:

  • 1. Cheat in any test or examination. (Cheating is a serious offence. A student caught cheating will be punished and given no marks for the entire subject. The offence will be entered on the offenders record and parents will be notified).
  • 2. Tamper with entries in any school report or class register.
  • 3. Forge parents or guardians' signatures.
  • 4. Damage or remove any notice.
  • 5. Put up any notice or poster or use the name or badge of the school without permission.
  • IN THE CLASSROOM STUDENTS SHOULD NOT:

  • 1. Bring any food or drink into any classroom or special room.
  • 2. Write, draw or put any stickers or labels on walls, blackboards, graph boards, desks or chairs.
  • 3. Leave behind or throw rubbish.
  • 4. Shout or make noise in class or between classes.
  • 5. Touch any switches or teaching aids unless instructed by the teacher.
  • 6. Misbehave in the classroom.
  • 7. Use ortouch any IT equipment and electrical appliances without approval.
  • 8. Deface the furniture and wall.
  • OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM STUDENTS SHOULD NOT:

  • 1. Throw any object from a height that is likely to cause injury.
  • 2. Run along the corridors or up and down stairs.
  • 3. Play any games in the Front Quadrangle.
  • 4. Climb walls or fences.
  • CONFISCATED ITEMS:

    Students in breach of the rule applying to mobile phones will have their phones confiscated. On the first occasion, the mobile will be returned to the parent. On the second occasion, the mobile phone will not be returned to the parent before the last day of the School year or the last day of classes.
